Hi everyone!
It’s been a few months now since we gave you an update from our Little Zoomers so here it is. We have been continuing to meet every Sunday morning at 9am for 40minutes of songs, games, crafts, bible stories, challenges and prayer time together. Our Little Zoomers are fantastic at knowing how to mute and unmute themselves now! It may not be the same as being in church together but we are definitely making the most of the opportunity that the technology of Zoom gives us. For one thing, we can come to children’s church in our pyjamas and eat our breakfast, see our friends and not even need to leave the house.
Before Christmas we looked at many heroes of the bible and we are challenged to remember a ‘memory verse’ from our themed bible story each week. We had a fantastic Christingle service together in which every child received a Christingle pack delivered to their door.
In January and February we learnt about two men of the Old Testament; Moses and Elijah! They both performed amazing mighty miracles and God spoke through them in mighty ways. We especially enjoyed learning about all the bugs in the plagues of Egypt. We enjoyed our Valentines Day packs reminding us of God’s love for us.
We’ve enjoyed games themed around our bible stories like musical statues and challenges to make things out of Lego. We have also enjoyed baking, painting and code breaker challenges. Our favourite game is the ‘find me’ game. If you’ve not tried it yet then you are missing out! Why not join us and give it a try?
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back into church in the near future but we are unsure what that will look like yet. Lockdown has been a challenging time for everyone but there is hope in Jesus, the one who gives life in all its fullness. Children have a great way of embracing change. They adapt and make the most of what they have around them. They’ve certainly done that with Zoom.
Some of our children helped host a quiz on zoom on a Saturday evening in half term for our wider church family which was a lovely way to bring all ages together. Due to the great feedback from this we hope to host another quiz in the Easter holidays so watch this space….
