Free Community Festival
The church of Baxenden is hosting its annual free festival with lots of fun things to do all afternoon. There will be all kinds of activities and events such as crafts, treasure hunt, bouncy castle, march of the air cadets, face painting, cutest dog competition, toss the turkey, fun races, junk modelling; and much more on offer. There will also be light refreshments and food, and all this is free. Why? Because we love and value our community. All warmly welcome!!

World War One Remembrance Service
100 years ago, this day, the guns fell silent... This is a once in a life time opportunity to commemorate the fallen Pals from Baxenden who joined the Accrington Pals but never made it back. A bloody world war that ended on November 11th 1918. There will be a service of commemoration, with silence of reflection being held at the cenotaph. When: November 11th at 3pm at St John’s Church. Meet at the Alma and walk along the old railway lines, finishing at St John's church for warm mince pies, drinks and a couple of carols to start your Christmas
Christmas Extravaganza
A local choir will be providing a festival of Christmas songs to bring in the warmth of Christmas spirit. A fun time for everyone, with a couple of performances from our school choir, it will be a great afternoon!

Memorial Service
Christmas holds that special gathering when many families and friends come together in love and fellowship. It is often this time we are reminded of our loved ones who are no-longer with us and dearly missed. In this sadness there is an opportunity to come and light a candle, reflect, and be in the company of others struggling at this time. To be reminded that through God's unfailing love for us, and His deep compassion, there is always hope and comfort
